Warner Newstrom

Another Pioneer Settler Gone

Warner Newstrom, one of Hamlin County's respected and pioneer citizens, died Tuesday night at aobut ten o'clock, at the age of 47 years and 7 months. Death was caused from lobar pneumonia. Mr. Newstrom had not been very strong since he suffered a sunstroke about fifteen months ago, which left his heart in bad condidtion so that he was unable to overcome the disease. Deceased was born in Sweden in 1861, coming to Hamlin county in 1892, when he took up land in Brantford township and continued to reside until his death. He was well and favorably known and enjoyed the confidence and respect of all who knew him.
He leaves a widow and seven children to mourn his loss. The funeral was held yesterday in the Lutheran church in town, conducted by Rev. Thoresen, and burial was made at the Dixon cemetery, east of town.

This is a clipping from my Grandmother's scrapbook. No newspaper name was on the clipping, but I think it was from the Lake Preston SD or Watertown SD newspaper.
